This is my second year at STEP Academy. I have enjoyed getting to know the students at STEP Academy; all of whom are energetic, curious, and enjoy my science-themed jokes. Before becoming a teacher, I was a research scientist and worked on many different projects including fat cell biology, malaria, and alzheimer’s disease. My career change was motivated by the opportunity to share my passion of science and learning with students, with the hope of inspiring student to ask “why” and seek answers. During all my classes, I try to incorporate real world applications and student centered activities that are guided my student inquiry. In my spare time, you can find me outside with my husband and two daughters.
