Students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade celebrated the end of our literacy month by participating at our Camp Read-A-Lot! The morning was filled with camp-themed crafts and activities. We also had a surprise visit from a friendly big, brown bear and a very wise owl!
Students sat around a pretend campfire while singing camp songs before visiting different camp stations. At the stations, students made different crafts, examined compasses, read by flashlights while sitting in tents, listened to camp stories, and learned about animal tracts.
Camp Read-A-Lot was truly a fun event for our whole Step Academy “family”!
High school students were camp counselors. Local Girl Scout leaders supplied and helped set-up tents. And our Executive Director and Academic Dean donned our furry, friendly, animal costumes bringing much laughter and fun to the whole school!
